About Us
Durban’s ‘coffee culture’ has been taken to another level by the Bike & Bean group, so named because pre-Covid, a bike hire service was also on offer.
Each of the four shops offers an eccentric, vibrant destination for Durban residents and visitors to the City, to meet and mingle over the perfectly brewed cup of coffee, fresh baked goods or a simple, delicious meal. While coffee is at the centre of what we do, the community is at our heart. Starting with our own Staff, renowned for their service and customer-centric attitude, to the communities/ small businesses and suppliers with whom we work. Our environmentally-sensitive practices make our entire operation sustainable, an aspect we are incredibly proud of.
Bean & Bistro Restaurant
The New Kid on The Block...
As the expanding Bike & Bean operation required a large kitchen for meal preparation to service the other shops that lacked sufficient space for this purpose, our newest property also at The Point in Durban KZN, provided the ideal location. This beautifully restored, historic shed is an A-Category listed building, built around 1900, that has been used for various commercial purposes since then.
Currently serving coffee, cake and light meals, the local residents, visitors and surrounding businesses were looking for more. So our signature Bike & Bean has had a ‘name-lift’ and will from 1 September be known as Bean & Bistro. The new space will now be serving dinner on weekends from Thursday-Saturday.
Car Wash
In order to give customers an even fuller service, we now have a car wash at the back of the building. The energetic B & B staff do the honours outside, while customers enjoy coffee or a meal indoors.
