About Us
Just a couple of kilometres beyond the Durban suburb of Hillcrest, within the Valley of a Thousand Hills, you can drive straight into South Africa sporting and viewing history at Inanda Dam and Resort. This spot has become legendary as the compulsory second overnight stop on the Dusi Canoe Marathon, a thrilling fixture here for six good decades.
You’ll find several other attractions as well at this Msinsi resort cradled in the graceful folds of the Valley of a Thousand Hills. Along multiple activities to partake in, the blockbuster Inanda Bass Classic Fishing Tournament each year end of April attracts hundreds of entrants from all over the country.
Aside from sporting and all endurance busting activites, we also have wonderful day visitor’s picnic areas where you can also gaze at the wonderful view of the dam, Zebra game, bird watching and sounds while relaxing.
In between these major attractions, make time to enjoy mountain biking, water sports such as,jet skii, sailing, cruise boat(Spirit of Umgeni), canoeing, kids zone, self-guided nature trails or visit the Wushini Arts and Culture Centre by the age-old hills and valleys or visit with us the Inanda Mountain and experiece live the beauty of National Flowers…Protea Flowers.

Boating and watersports: Water-skiing and power-boating against the backdrop of the majestic Valley of a Thousand Hills is an unforgettable experience. Or for those who prefer a different water thrill, we have a specially demarcated jetski area. We also have six two-person canoes for hire.
Fishing: Try your luck at catching bream, carp, barbel (catfish) and eel in Inanda Dam- and if bass is your thing, consider competing against hundreds of other enthusiasts from around the country by entering the Inanda Bass Classic Fishing Tournament in April / May each year.
Picnicking: Relax by the water’s edge at one of our picnic sites, complete with family-friendly jungle gym and a well-maintained toilet facility. There are plenty of braai points to choose from a just remember to bring your own grid.
Trails: Our trails really do offer the long and the short of it! Our walking trail in the Mahlabathini Reserve is just 2.5km long but takes you through ravine forest and grassland, where you may catch sight of duiker or zebra. At the other extreme, cyclists looking for a challenge enjoy our 90km mountain-bike trail around Inanda Dam or you can join in the
Birding: At least 66 different bird species have been recorded in the Inanda Dam and Resort, with our various trails particularly offering you interesting opportunities for sightings.
