About Us
The Treehouse River Lodge is a nature-friendly weekend or weekday getaway for couples and families just 15 minutes from Hillcrest and 45 minutes outside Durban in Shongweni Valley.
We have three thatched chalets overlooking the Sterspruit River, and a cozy, budget garden-view chalet for couples looking for a more affordable option. There is a sheltered al fresco dining area for guests wanting breakfast, which overlooks the rock pool in the main garden.
On the premises guests will find the Western Barn Owl, which nests in the trees above the chalets, while the Sterkspruit River is home to the African Clawless Otter, who make an occasional appearance in the early morning and late afternoon.
If you listen very carefully while relaxing on your private terrace, you might even hear the cry, and see, the magnificent African Fish Eagle overhead.
All chalets are en-suite with toiletries and daily housekeeping provided, along with private and secure parking on-site for all guests. You will recieve a gate remote for access to the property so that you can come and go as you please.
