About Us

With her passion for floral design, Mariana decided that she needed a new venue that was close to her heart, as her shop in Lynnwood Road was no longer suitable. From this dream Mariana and her husband, Kowie, opened the doors to Villa Jana Guest House.

Nestled in the tranquil suburb of Equestria in the East of Pretoria, Villa Jana radiates a peaceful and serene ambience, has a beautiful interior and promises excellent service. Our personalised service and high attention to detail sets the perfect atmosphere for conferences, weddings and functions.

Villa Jana is proud to have been awarded a 4-star grading from the highly accredited Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

Making a bouquet of flowers is one of my passions, and amidst a mass of flowers of all colours and types is one of my favourite places on earth to be. I grew up in a home surrounded by a wonderful garden and a mother who was forever busy making flower arrangements, for either a competition, or a Demo that she was planning for. I am also fortunate to be married to a man who gives me the space and the support to enjoy my passion – flowers.

I have been in floristry for the past 15 years, dealing with all kinds of requests, as well as, being a coordinator for functions and weddings. I love guiding the bride in choosing a theme, bridal bouquet, chapel, reception and centerpieces, and helping her go through every little detail of the big day. I like to assist her with finding a style that is perfect for her, to make her dream day come true.

My fondest memory was assisting my mother with a mass arrangement at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show in London UK, where we won the first gold medal for South Africa.

To try and stay on top of current ideas, I often visit countries such as Holland, Germany, Italy and London to attend shows and courses to find out the very latest trends and designs. My most recent trip was to London where I completed a course at the Jane Packer School of Flowers.

Flowers and Angels Floral Design School gives a wide variety of courses for different needs whether you simply enjoy flowers for your home, or if you wish to make a career out of floristry or coordinating.

Being a qualified teacher, teaching is my other passion and therefore my wish is that you will enjoy your course, and take home new ideas that will inspire you to create your own style and techniques.
